Chi Long Forest Park located in Ban Wang Wa, Moo 6, Tah Khon Yang Sub-district, Kantara Vichai District, Maha Sarakham Province, covered the area of 119 rais approximately. The Royal Forest Department declared the forest park on April 24, 1982.
Topography
Its geographical character is plain, surrounded by Lam Chii Long River Plain on its north, east and south throughout the year. Even though on its Westside indicated the Chii River, as a matter of fact its natural dam where water can be well stored. This unique character of the area creates a mostly island-liked landscape.
Flora and Fauna
Various flora species found. Most of tree found i.e. Dipterocarpus sp., bastard teak (local people calls Chan), black plum, CHAMUAN, Diospyros areolata, sesban, Mitragyna hirsuta, mango, rain tree, Ficus sp., KAYAO, Careya sphaerica, wild cotton tree, and Lagerstroemia cochinchinensis respectively. In addition, lower trees found are bamboo, Siamese rough brush, various bush trees and torn trees.
