Nayoong - Namsom Forest Park is in territory of Mai Kraya Loey Klang Yai Forest Project Part 7 and 8, Pue District, Udonthani Province and Mai Kraya Loey Nayoong Forest Project Part 10, Nayoong Sub District, Namsom District, Udonthani Province, covering area around 13,112 Rai. The department Forestry has proclaimed it to be a forest park on December 26, 1975.
Topography
Nayoong - Namsom Forest Park is located in the Phu Phan mountain range. In the North, it comprises of highly steep cliffs and overlapping stone field. Around 700 meters from the cliffs, there is Yoong Thong waterfall. And in the middle of the area is the steep peak with year round rinsing water pond overlooking the beautiful view below clearly.
Climate
Climate condition here is monsoon. Summer is started from March to May, average temperature is 40*C. From June to October is the rainy season and the temperature would decrease to 10-20*C during the winter, November to February. The rainfall is about 1,000-1,500 millimeters throughout the year.
Flora and Fauna
Generally Teng Rang Forests are scattered around the ridge of the hills with many kinds of plants, for example Shorea, Dipterocarpaceae, Dipterocarpus and also the forest floor such as grasses. In the mixed deciduous forests, founded plants are Dalbergia, Red Pterocarpus, Ormosia and several kinds of bamboo.
Wide animals founded are mountain goats, barking deer, viverriculas, gibbons, langur, wide boars, squirrels, monitor lizards, snakes and birds. However the big wildlife such as deer, tiger, elephant, and black bear were already hunted out of here.
